Parent Program

Increasingly, sport organizations have to deal with the unruly and disrespectful parents of players and the effect they have on the team, the other parents, and even their own children.The Respect in Sport Parent Program, Canada’s only online training and certification program, compliments Respect in Sport for Coaches/Activity Leaders. This program reinforces a parent’s role by encouraging positive sport behaviors and providing insight into other roles, such as coaches and officials, play. The Respect in Sport Parent program empowers parents to ensure their child’s safety, encourages positive and effective communication, and creates a standard of respectful behavior for all parents of active kids.

Activity Leader/Coach Program

Across North America, sport organizations are struggling with the issues of Abuse Prevention and Risk Management. Yet, while there are organizations developing policies and procedures to address the concerns around keeping kids safe, few have actual programs that make their sport community a safer, more ethical place for young people to participate. Respect Group Inc. is changing that.

Respect Group has created critical abuse prevention education with the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Program. This easy to use online training enables sport and community organizations to create a safer, more ethical environment by providing essential information to each organization’s critical stakeholders.

Respect in Sport’s 2.5 hour highly engaging online training is for Activity Leaders of all levels: recreational, competitive, and elite, with the intention of:

• empowering and educating youth leaders and coaches on the prevention of abuse, bullying and harassment

• building a holistic culture of respect within the sport community

• providing fundamental training tools which enable all coaches and youth leaders to become better role models for the young athletes in their care
